Aligning desires...for couples

I hear stories like these all the time:

“My husband approaches me at the absolute WORST times… Like, ‘Seriously?  Now?’  But I don’t want to hurt his feelings… and at a better time, I would like to…”

“The other night, she was giving me all the signals that she wanted to… But I was just exhausted after a horrible week at work and our son being sick…  I hated to say “I’m too tired” but it was true!”

“It seems like we never want the same thing at the same time.  I’m in the mood and he’s not, or he’s totally turned on and I’m just not feeling it.”

Sometimes there’s a big gap between one partner’s drive and the other’s.  Other times, they’re like ships passing in the night:  the desire is the same, but not simultaneous.

Many many couples tell me,

“We both enjoy it when we get there… but getting into that place, TOGETHER, is the hardest part.”

Approaching intimacy in long-term relationships can be very frustrating, because it combines the anticipation of intense pleasure with - often - the experience of anxiety in asking and discomfort in being asked.

The process from one partner having the impulse to both partners being on-board and pleasurably engaged… Well, that process is rough more often than it’s smooth, and for many couples, it means getting derailed more often than not.

I help couples get to connection:  better intimacy, more often, with more clarity about what they each actually desire and how to translate those desires into connection with one another that’s satisfying for them both.

In this teleconference - old-school, I know - but it lets you call in from anywhere, anonymously, and I respect that this topic is highly vulnerable for many people -  you’ll learn:

  • Why our desires and our partner’s desires so seldom organically line up at the same time

  • The out-of-the-bedroom upsets that block many people’s desire - and what you can do to unblock it

  • Why feeling “closer” or “safer” in your relationship is often NOT the key to higher desire - and, if not, what key you CAN use
